Space Cat

I wonder how hard it is to write a book for children. I would love to do a silly book with cats and monsters from space.

This is Space Cat...

I think I will make some tests with this character.
He would roam around space in his space cat space ship, looking for adventure.

'what's this?' he'd say.
'some strange red object outside, I must investigate.'

And then...
Danger!.

Things like that, or maybe I will make it a cartoon.
What do you think?

  1. Space Cat looks tired. He should get more rest before taking on Space Lobsters.

  2. he does look tired, probably due to the amount of adventure he has.

  5. love the idea - I would start with a slim comic book split into episodes and if works (testing on real kids) would make a cartoon as well. Just choose an age target (to me looks 12yo BTW) first and maybe, to add thickness, think about an underlying purpose: teach math, explain astronomy, things like that...

  6. yes, that's a good idea. Making books and cartoons for children is not as easy as one might think. A lot of things to take into account isn't there. I'll have get my sketchbook out and start planning some layouts and storyboards. Astronomy could be a good way to go. Am thinking of looking into that more myself anyhow, so maybe I can inject a little of that in there, kids love space, at least I did :)

    Thanks for feedback

The idea about teach some space stuff is great. I work typesetting, translating and making covers of books for children and found a lot of that on them.
